Discover the two favourite books of our LUCA friend and Honorary President, Christian Bauer.
Both books were awarded the “Grand-Prix du Livre 2017” of the City of Briey, in France. Christian Bauer was a member of its Jury.
- “Vers l’immédiate étrangeté des formes”, QUINTON Jean-Christophe, Auto-édition, Paris, 2017, 720 pages. ISBN 978-2-746699-51-9
“This book mixes classicism, utopia and poetry, making it particularly interesting. If the enigmatic title and the imposing beauty of this object are attractive, it was thanks to its content and purpose that convinced the jury. Produced by Jean-Christophe Quinton – architect in Paris and director of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles – this book is the result of an immense and rich self-publishing work on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition presented at the Galerie d’Architecture in 2017”.
- “Paris Haussmann : Modèle de ville”, JALLON Benoît, Editions du Pavillon de l’Arsenal, Paris, 2017, 263 pages. ISBN 978-2-35487-037-9
“This book is remarkable because of the way it is presented and its analysis’ methodology, which allows the comparison of the morphology and structure of different cities. It’s a book to be studied, savoured and kept as a reference for urban planning research”.
Christian Bauer – is an architect and founding partner of the office Christian Bauer & Associés Architectes. With his team, he looks upon their architecture as being emotional yet at the same time rational. They practice concept driven and pragmatic architecture, which is generous but economical when it comes to funds and resources.
