This week, LUCA invites you to discover free Architecture films on “Kanopy” via the Médiatèque of the CNA Centre National de l’Audiovisuel. Kanopy is a free VOD (Video on Demand) platform, offering access to a selection of films covering many genres – documentaries, fiction, educational material, children’s films – there is something for everyone!
Exceptionally, the registration to this platform is simplified during the lockdown (for the registration procedure, see below). You can watch 15 films per month instead of 5 and It is still free! You’ll even find architecture, urbanism, landscaping films and documentaries.
Here are some of LUCA’s favourites documentaries:

- Mies on Scene – Barcelona in Two Acts. (2018). [Film], 58 minutes. Directed by Pep Martín, Xavi Campreciós.
The Barcelona Pavilion, the masterpiece with which Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich staged their revolutionary ideas in 1929, changed the history of architecture forever. It only existed for eight months but its image was survived in the minds of generations of architects around the world. MIES ON SCENE reflects on the transformative capacity of art, the emotional perception of space and the concept of masterpiece.

A short movie for the little ones:
- Roberto the Insect Architect. (2005). [Short film], 12 minutes. Directed by Galen Fott, Jerry Hunt.
A termite named Roberto pursues his dream of becoming an architect and travels to the big city where he hopes to find success.
Online registration to the Kanopy platform:
To use Kanopy, you need to register by filling two online forms: the one to the Médiathèque and the one for Kanopy. Then, you have to send them to email@example.com in order to receive an access code. From now, you can browse it!
